Fw: OIS Update (07/06/2004): International Society Newsletter

IMPORTANT UPDATE (07/06/2004): INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY NEWSLETTER

The newest edition of The Global Connection is available on the OIS home page at www.hopkinsmedicine.org/intlsvcs

The Global Connection newsletter has been a wonderful source of information for the Johns Hopkins international community for many years.  International students, faculty and staff from JHMI turn to the Global Connection to obtain information on events happening in and around the city of Baltimore.  Movies, ethnic festivals, day trips, you name it…if it is fun and interesting, the Global Connection will tell you about it!

In an effort to provide a more comprehensive resource, the Global Connection is changing its format.  In addition to the regular features that focus on activities around Baltimore, the Global Connection will start providing stories on immigration and JHMI related issues.  An “Ask The Advisor” column will provide readers the opportunity to submit general immigration questions and have them answered in a public forum.  This will benefit all the readers who may have the same questions.

The Global Connection will also have a new look and layrout that will permit the reader to quickly locate articles they may be of interest to them. We hope you enjoy the changes and continue to read the Global Connection newsletter.

As always, please feel free to share this information with others who may be interested. If you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

You can continue to remain well informed about workshops and training sessions offered by our office; recent changes in U.S. immigration law affecting international students, faculty, and staff at the JHMI; changes in our office policies and/or procedures; and much more by regularly visiting our Internet site. You will be notified of any changes to the site via this e-mail listserv. Please encourage other internationals who are in the U.S. as non-immigrants to subscribe to this e-mail listserv. Also, please encourage JHMI faculty and staff members who deal with internationals to subscribe to this list as well.

To subscribe, an individual simply needs to send an e-mail to listproc@lists.jhmi.edu. In the body of the message type the following: sub intl-services Fname Lame (example: sub intl-services Jennifer Kerilla) Important Note: Do no send message with signature attached OR with rich text fonts enabled.
